CHARLOTTE, NC, Oct. 7 /Christian Newswire/ -- Building on an established portfolio of effective Christian training materials, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) today announced the launch of a new evangelism training resource for youth, "The Dare to Be a Daniel Experience." The five-session curriculum is designed for church youth groups, Sunday school classes, Christian camps and other groups in an effort to help make disciples of Jesus Christ.

"Since its inception, BGEA has always understood the importance of reaching America's youth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ," said Chad Miller, director of Dare to Be a Daniel. "Though packaged differently for today's young people, the resource uses the same biblical principles of evangelism training that Billy Graham employed throughout decades of ministry. We know these techniques work, and we eagerly look for God to move in kids' lives through this new tool."

Dare to Be a Daniel began in 2006 as the vision of BGEA President and CEO Franklin Graham to help Christian students share their faith and make a difference in their schools for Jesus Christ. The training, targeted at youth ages nine to 14, or "tweens," examines the story of Daniel as a biblical example to young people of how a life dedicated to God in the midst of a decadent culture can affect an entire nation.

The ministry equips kids to live boldly for Jesus Christ and share Him with their friends. The training happens in a variety of options for students. Individually, they can use a Web site (DaretoBeaDaniel.com) or a home Bible study kit that includes a booklet and an interactive, media-rich CD-ROM. For group study the training is available as a 13-session group Bible study. To date, more than 14,100 youth in America, representing all 50 states, have completed the training.

This new resource offers teachers the versatility of using the curriculum in a variety of group settings and in only five sessions. It also challenges students more directly in a series of "dares," encouraging them to: dare to be different for God; dare to be disciplined and know Jesus better; dare to be discerning with choices and friends; dare to be His disciple through self-sacrifice and humility; and dare to be a witness for Jesus and share the good news of God's love with others.

Miller continued, "If we want to reach the next generation for Jesus, we need to realize that nobody reaches a young person like another young person. Our goal is to equip the kids who already know Christ with the tools they need to effectively share their faith with their friends."

"The Dare to Be a Daniel Experience," which includes a leader's guide, DVD, a teacher resource Web page and five student manuals, is being offered for a limited time for $69.95 (suggested retail price, $99.95). To order, please call 800-902-D2BD (888-902-3223) or visit www.billygraham.org/D2BD.
