Launch of New Website to Bring Christian E-Books to Readers

GILBERT, Az., Sept. 28, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Given how technology has changed the way we acquire and read books, a new faith-based website is going to make it easier for those who are seeking their favorites in the Christian genre.

The Oct. 1 launch of Christian eBooks Today -- www.christianebookstoday.com -- seeks to connect readers with electronic books from quality Christian authors.

"Much of the selection we offer includes many best sellers from award-winning writers," said Karen Baney, owner and chief executive officer of the Arizona-based Christian eBooks Today. "Whether fiction or nonfiction, we believe our website can offer books to inspire readers in their faith and daily walk."

Baney is very quick to point out her vision for the website -- and that is to provide an online environment where it is safe for readers -- free from explicit content or racy covers.

"We want this to be a place where readers can feel free to browse and explore a variety of written works without being tempted or bombarded with images of things they would like to avoid," she said.

The creation of the website certainly makes sense. According to information from the Association of American Publishers, publishers sold 66.6 million e-books in January 2011, growing to 100 million in January 2012.

"Obviously, the landscape of the publishing industry has changed quickly and drastically over just the last 18 to 24 months," said Baney. "Technology is opening books to readers and doors to authors. It's an exciting time for everyone."

In addition to having scores of affordable books available to visitors, the site will seek out and provide listings of books -- fiction and nonfiction -- which are available for free at various on-line retailers.

"We're going to introduce our visitors to books and writers they may not have previously found," Baney said, whose four-novel Prescott Pioneer Series and contemporary romance Nickels are all Amazon Kindle best sellers. "I truly believe they'll be pleased and blessed by what they find at our website."
