RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, July 19, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- World Youth Day pilgrims will have four days to explore their faith through youth-produced media and have the chance to hone their own filmmaking skills during the 2013 Goodness Reigns WYD Film Fest.

Made possible by a grant from the Our Sunday Visitor Institute, the event will take place at the Teatro João Theotonio on the campus of Cândido Mendes University-Centro from July 23-26. Beginning and professional filmmakers will share their work over the four days.

Suzanne Haugh directs Goodness Reigns, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire youth and young adults to create faith-based media and art and share it on the Internet. "Young people spend many minutes, many hours, exploring the Internet," Haugh said. "As Christ's disciples we must go into this mission territory and inspire not just budding filmmakers and artists to make their own faith-based films, but all viewers passionate about their faith. We have many life-enhancing stories to tell!"

Carlos Tobon will serve as emcee of the 4-day event. Tobon has appeared as "Agent Carlos" in entertaining short films about a colorful duo called to bring people to the Catholic faith. ("CIA: An Introduction to the YOUCAT" and "Catholic Integration Agency.")
