HOUSTON, April 27, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- His Eminence, Raymond Cardinal Burke, Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura, will be in Houston, Texas on May 8 and 9, 2011 to speak out against abortion in general and Planned Parenthood's huge expansion in Houston in particular, and to pray outside of its new late term abortion facility.
Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, Archbishop of Galveston-Houston and head of the Committee on Pro-Life Activities of the USCCB, will join Cardinal Burke on May 8 for a "Night for Life" Gala benefiting the Pro-life Apostolate of the Catholic Charismatic Center.
The presence of these two prominent voices for the unborn in this country lends special significance to this Gala and the message that will be spoken regarding Planned Parenthood's huge expansion in Houston making it the abortion capital of the United States and South America, will be heard by many.
Cardinal Burke is a man of great passion for the pro-life cause and is one of the highest ranking U.S. bishops in the church. His particular presence at this abortion facility will be a very significant moment of official opposition to the abortion industry in America. The fact that Planned Parenthood has made this expansion a unique new effort to change the face of abortion facilities in this country will be made very clear.
On Monday, May 9, Cardinal Burke will lead clergy and hundreds of lay people in prayer right outside of the gates of Planned Parenthood at 4600 Gulf Freeway.
