Lutheran World Relief Begins Disaster Response in El Salvador

BALTIMORE, Nov. 9 /Christian Newswire/ -- Lutheran World Relief has committed funds to respond to flooding and mudslides in El Salvador. The disaster, caused by heavy rains for the last several days, has claimed 124 lives, with dozens of people still missing. Emergency workers are searching for survivors.

LWR is in touch with partners on the ground in El Salvador who are monitoring the situation and assessing the needs. LWR plans to support the relief effort with an initial contribution toward emergency relief needs.
