WASHINGTON, May 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced their endorsement of Jackie Walorski, candidate for U.S. House of Representatives in Indiana's 2nd district. Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser commented on the endorsement:

"The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund is proud to endorse Jackie Walorski for Congress. Jackie has already been a strong pro-life female voice in the Indiana State House and will bring her passion for defending the unborn and their mothers to Washington.

"Jackie will do what Congressman Donnelly has been unable to do during his two terms in office--remain true to his pro-life principles and the pro-life people of Indiana. Even after polling showed that 78% of his constituents opposed taxpayer funding of abortion in healthcare reform, Rep. Donnelly cast a vote resulting in the greatest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade. Unlike Rep. Donnelly, Jackie Walorski will be a true representative for the women and families of Indiana's 2nd district."

Rep. Joe Donnelly ran as a pro-life Democrat, but later voted for healthcare reform that included federally funded abortion. A March 2010 poll commissioned by the Susan B. Anthony List found that 60% of respondents in Rep. Donnelly's district would be less likely to vote to re-elect him if he voted for healthcare reform.

Jackie Walorski won the Republican Primary on May 4 with 61% of the vote. As an Indiana State representative, she added an amendment to a Hate Crimes Bill that would have added unborn children to the list of protected classes. Jackie also fought to defund Planned Parenthood of Indiana when a clinic was accused of failing to report statutory rape.

Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund endorsements are promoted to the organization's nationwide membership of over 280,000 Americans.  The SBA List Candidate Fund endorses pro-life female candidates, as well as pro-life male candidates who run against female candidates in favor of abortion rights. In 2008, the SBA List Candidate Fund raised over $1 million.

The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of over 280,000 Americans, residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics.  Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage of pro-life women in the political process.
