Author of Heaven Account Responds to Skeptics

Contact: Craig Cable, 970-292-4697

MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 21, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- An exclusive filmed interview with Todd Burpo, author of New York Times bestseller Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back will be screened at Lifetree Cafés across the U.S. next week.

In 2003, Todd nearly lost his 4-year-old son, Colton. The boy's appendix burst, and he fought a life-threatening infection. To save Colton's life, emergency surgery was conducted. After the surgery, Colton began telling his parents about his "visit to heaven."

Since the book was released, some have doubted Burpo's account. In the Lifetree episode, Todd Burpo responds to the skeptics. He said, "As a pastor and as a dad, I want my son to know I tell the truth. He can read the book. He knows if I exaggerated or if I didn't. My son is forever gonna believe that I'm an honest person or I'm a liar by what I wrote in that book, because he can read."

Lifetree representative Craig Cable said, "Several months after his surgery, Colton started talking about visiting heaven during the time he hovered between life and death in the operating room. He knew things he couldn't have otherwise known, described things he couldn't have otherwise seen. As the evidence mounted, Colton's parents had to decide: Had their son gone to heaven and returned?"

The hour-long Lifetree program includes interviews with Colton Burpo, as well as his father and mother. The interactive program will be presented in local locations during the week of September 25.

Lifetree Cafés are located throughout the country. They offer weekly community forums about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting. More information including times and locations may be found at www.lifetreecafe.com.
