MEDIA ADVISORY, July 28 /Christian Newswire/ -- GOD TV CEO, Rory Alec and American singer, actor and writer, Pat Boone were in East Africa this week to open a community development center in Tanzania and dedicate GOD TV's latest broadcast tower in Kenya.

The Pat Boone Family Life Center was officially opened by Pat Boone on Monday July 26th after he partnered with GOD TV to provide foundational funding for the facility in Loiborsoit, Tanzania. This is GOD TV's newest Life Center to be built and will serve an entire Maasai community with much needed services.

The facility provides health services and clean water through a deep water well. The new Life Center will also provide electrical power, telephone and Internet communications and a school fostering economic and agricultural development.

"We are privileged to partner with Pat and Shirley Boone to impact the everyday lives of several thousand Maasai people," said Rory Alec.  "Pat Boone is just as well known for his artistic talents as his Christian faith and the generosity of the Boone family has inspired us to reach further to help bring about transformation in Africa."

GOD TV's Mombasa Transmitter was dedicated to God on Tuesday July 27th in a special service held on site and filmed by GOD TV to be broadcast worldwide. This, GOD TV's fifth transmitter in Kenya, will provide one million Kenyans with free Christian television programming.

GOD TV has been in Kenya for the past seven years and now viewers in Mombasa are also able to tune in to watch popular Bible teachers; news and magazine programmes; youth concerts; and LIVE broadcasts from across the globe.

GOD TV started broadcasting in Kenya in 2003 when the Network launched its first transmitter in Eldoret in partnership with Sayare TV. Since then broadcast towers have been built in Timboroa, Nairobi, Nakuru and now Mombasa - reaching a combined viewing audience of several million homes.

"We are delighted to broadcast the Gospel into more Kenyan homes as well as to spearhead much-needed community upliftment projects," said Rory Alec. "GOD TV aims to provide Christian programming in every major city in Africa as it is God's Word that really changes lives. We also want to build Life Centers in needy areas to help build stronger communities."

As an international media network, GOD TV focuses on sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with a connected viewing audience of nearly half a billion people worldwide. It also donates a percentage of its revenue to charitable projects, putting a high priority on serving the needs of those who are suffering.

GOD TV can be viewed worldwide and all across the USA on channel 365 of DIRECTV as well as on select local cable stations in certain cities. Online viewers can watch at www.god.tv/live or at www.god.tv/video via video on demand.
