Rick Warren Promotes Chrislam by Practice
Contact: Steve McConkey, President, 4 WINDS USA, 608-469-7956

MADISON, Wisc., Feb. 27, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Steve McConkey, President of 4 WINDS USA, submits the following and is available for comment:

Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church, promotes the King's Way, a PEACE Plan between Muslims and Christians according to the Orange County Register.

According to the article, Warren has been outreaching for years to Muslims. He has broken Ramadan fasts at a mosque and has addressed 8,000 Muslims at a national convention in Washington D.C.

Warren's church and Muslim leaders co-authored a document outlining the points of agreement between Muslims and Christians. Both sides affirmed they believe in "one God" and share the "love of God" and "love of neighbor."

They agreed they would not evangelize each other. Warren has stated in the last few days that the Orange County Register article contained errors, however, the editor said he got all the facts correct.

Rick Warren and others who follow him are being led in the wrong direction. Instead of fulfilling the Great Commission of winning and building men and women in the faith, they are building a Tower of Babel that leads to nowhere. Something like the "bridge to nowhere."

The problem with Rick Warren is that he promotes New Age authors, doctors, and false religions one day, and then the next day, he makes vague comments about why he does not believe what they do.

It is not what a person says, but what they do. By his practice, he does not present the truth of the gospel clearly, but endorses false religions and cults by silence.

In Acts 17, Paul went into Athens and reasoned with the people. At the end, he talked about the resurrection. Some mocked Paul and others got saved. Muslims mock the resurrection of Jesus Christ since they believe Jesus was never crucified, not a great Easter message.

Warren has confused the Great Commission with the Great Lie, we can reach man with a little truth, but more love. However, 1 Corinthians 13:6 says "Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth." As we love others, we need to present the truth clearly despite the resulting persecution. This is a time for courage, not cowardice!
