DALLAS, Oct. 5, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- Hope For The Heart, a worldwide biblical counseling ministry, celebrates 30 years of providing biblical hope and practical help to those searching for answers to life's most difficult challenges. June Hunt, whose lifework has yielded landmark contributions in the field of biblical counseling, founded the organization in 1986.

"Looking back over the past 30 years, it's humbling to see how God has used Hope For The Heart to continually help people find practical answers for their problems. We present 'Commonsense Christianity' for real people with real issues offering real solutions by addressing relevant topics from grief and guilt to fear and forgiveness ... from abuse and addictions to self-worth and suicide," shares Hunt.

Hope For The Heart serves not only those struggling with critical life issues, but also those seeking direction on decision making, time management, employment and purpose in life.

Hunt continues, "My hope has always been for God to use our counseling resources to serve the needs of both those who are searching for real answers to their real-life questions and also those wanting their lives to be transformed to be more Christlike. We've seen lives change. We've seen people find hope and a new purpose because of what Christ has done in their lives."

After years of teaching and research, Hunt developed 100 topical "Biblical Counseling Keys" – revealing definitions, characteristics, causes and steps to solutions for each topic. Today, the "Biblical Counseling Library" has become the foundation for the ministry's expansion, including its "Biblical Counseling Intensive" conferences and two popular radio programs: "Hope For The Heart" and "Hope In The Night," Hunt's live two-hour call-in counseling program. These two broadcasts are heard on more than 300 radio outlets around the nation.

An accomplished teacher, speaker and author, Hunt has written numerous books, including the "Seeing Yourself Through God's Eyes" devotional, the "Counseling Through Your Bible Handbook" and "How to Forgive … When You Don't Feel Like It." One of her most recent publications, the Aspire minibooks, addressing 42 counseling topics, have sold over 1 million copies. Aspire Press is also currently Beta testing a new line of Bible studies based on several of her most popular topics. In addition, the Hope For The Heart Resources App, launched this fall, provides free, quick, easy-to-access, basic counseling references on 20 challenges experienced in everyday life.

Today, Hope For The Heart continues its mission to equip people with biblical principles to renew lives, restore families, revitalize churches and reproduce influencers – worldwide. Its impact of changing lives is seen across cultures, races and ages – reaching 6 continents in over 30 languages. "No matter what country someone lives in or their cultural dynamics, if they embrace how God's truth works 'in us and through us,' these life-changing truths will make a profound difference in their hearts and lives," Hunt adds.

In recognition of the ministry's 30th anniversary, Hope For The Heart will host a special dinner on October 6, 2016, at The Hope Center in Plano, Texas. "This anniversary celebration for Hope For The Heart is the first of its kind for this ministry. The event will celebrate not only all the work done by Hope For The Heart over thirty years through God's grace, but also the ministry's efforts in the future. We prayerfully hope God will continue through His grace to transform and strengthen lives and families around the world," shares Harriet Miers, Chair for the event. Highlighting the evening, Hunt will present the first Ambassador of Hope Awards to this year's two recipients, Dr. Jim Leininger and Cindy Brinker Simmons, whose actions have benefitted people throughout the world. This award is an expression of Hope For The Heart's deep gratitude for their unwavering Christian faith, which has transformed our world and our future with the hope of Jesus Christ.
