COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Oct. 26, 2021 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) is pleased to announce several key changes in its global structure designed to enhance outreach and missional alignment as it moves forward with its "Three Pillars" Strategic Plan.

As part of its restructuring, the organization welcomes Dr. Debbie MacCullough as the new Director of Global Core Standards. Her primary responsibilities will include identifying and writing biblically based core standards for global implementation and assessment.

She began this role Oct. 1, 2021.

ACSI Senior Vice President of Global Mike Epp believes the development of global core standards in Christian education will enhance quality in practices such as teacher certification and school improvement internationally.

"We're thrilled to welcome Dr. MacCullough to her new position on the ACSI Global team," he said. "This is a huge step toward ensuring excellent, Christ-centered education across the world."

MacCullough brings more than 25 years of experience in education, both in the U.S. and the Philippines. She holds degrees in Bible, elementary education and mathematics education. Most recently, she served ACSI Global as a Higher Education Consultant, training Christian leaders from emerging nations from a distinctly biblical point of view.

"I am looking forward to working with the ACSI Global team in preparing core standards for our schools," MacCullough shared. "Christian education, worldwide, could become where God begins a new reformation and it is a joy to work for continued improvement in these schools and from our teachers."

ACSI President Dr. Larry Taylor shared his vision for the strategic restructuring.

"We want to be sure we recognize and emphasize in the 'I' in ACSI," he said. "Part of that effort includes investing in the development, implementation, and assessment of global core standards, and we look forward to the great talent Dr. MacCullough will bring to this position."

In another move related to global alignment, ACSI is changing the title of its current ACSI India office to ACSI South Asia, as the office oversees multiple countries in southern Asia. This transition will extend the benefits of membership, services and networking to a much larger geographic area.
