SAN JOSE, Calif., June 27, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- For July 4th Christians and churches nationwide are celebrating God and Country. Three of the USA's leading pastors want to encourage Americans to remember God is the source of freedom. These patriotic messages of hope will be given by pastors Steven Andrew, Gordon James Klingenschmitt and Wiley Drake. Local churches also have their own July 4th events. Full article here.
"It's important to thank God on Independence Day because the USA's liberty is from God," said pastor Steven Andrew. The pastor is founder of Revival Force, president of USA Christian Ministries and author of "God's Plan for the USA."
He explained how John Adams said Independence Day, "ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty." The reason is God delivered the USA from tyranny.
There is an attractive July 4th God and Country brochure with quotes and a prayer for those who want to participate online. The free brochure can be used as a church bulletin insert in local God and Country church services. There are other free resources, including a patriotic Fourth of July song sheet and Bible verses.
On July 4th, messages from the three pastors will be available online. The God and Country resources are available now at the Revival Force website.
Pastor Wiley Drake shared how the Pilgrims got on their knees and said they came for the glory of God. Drake asks Americans to turn to God for Independence Day. He is former 2nd Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention, hosts the Wiley Drake Show and is a veteran.
Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt recently won the Colorado primary for State Representative (District 15). Klingenschmitt encourages Americans to include God on July 4th. The chaplain is founder of Pray In Jesus' Name Ministries and TV show, and is also a veteran.
Rev. Steven Andrew explained that when Samuel Adams said, "We have this day restored the Sovereign to whom all men ought to be obedient," that it is our duty to obey God. Other brochure quotes show how our rights come from God.
One goal is for Americans to read the Declaration of Independence on July 4th.
"Let's honor God by singing 'God Bless America,' 'America the Beautiful' and the verse with, 'In God is our Trust' from our National Anthem," pastor Steven Andrew said. "Putting Jesus first in the USA guarantees our Christian liberty."
