NASHVILLE, Feb.10, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- February is often referred to as the "month of love," and in recent years it has become a time when many families and churches hold True Love Waits ceremonies where young people commit their sexual purity to God.

This year, as groups organize True Love Waits ceremonies during Valentine's Day week, they have a powerful new resource available called the True Love Project, a video-driven Bible study designed to help students understand their sexuality in light of the gospel.

The True Love Project is much more than a Bible study for students on the topic of sex and virginity; rather, it focuses on helping students understand how the gospel impacts all aspects of purity. The eight-session curriculum encourages them to pursue Christ through their sexual purity, and in the process demonstrate to the world around them that Jesus is the ultimate destination and desire of their hearts.

The curriculum was written by author and speaker Clayton King and his wife, Sharie, and it includes video testimonies by:

Perry Noble, senior pastor of NewSpring Church in South Carolina

Jeff Bethke, author and speaker and co-owner of Claro Candles, which donates profits to areas of injustice throughout the world

Marian Jordan Ellis, author, speaker and founder of Redeemed Girl Ministries

Derwin Gray, founding and lead pastor of Transformation Church, and his wife, Vicki.

"Sharie and I have been teaching on sexual purity and relationships for over 15 years, and by God's grace have attempted to 'practice what we preach.' This opportunity, for us, is simply miraculous. We want students to know that when they mess up, they don't have to give up. Our purity isn't defined by performance or perfection, but by our position in Christ. We are pure because of the gospel and that's the position we fight from," Clayton King said.
