'In Freedom's Cause' and 'With Lee In Virginia' Nominated for 10 Voice Arts Awards

THOMSON, Ill., Nov. 5, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- A pair of star-filled family audio dramas that are putting God back into history received 10 nominations in six categories from the Voice Arts Awards, which are similar to the Academy Awards and honor the best productions and talent in the audio industry.
 
Heirloom Audio was founded by Bill Heid with the goal of giving children positive, Christ-centered entertainment that not only engages the mind but also educates and inspires. All of the company's CDs are based on G.A. Henty historical novels and recount the adventures of real heroes from history. They feature first-rate actors and actresses, along with original musical scores and sound effects. Free curriculum also is available for each two-CD set. 
 
Leading the way for Heirloom Audio were In Freedom's Cause and With Lee In Virginia, each of which was nominated for Outstanding Production. The Voice Arts Awards will be handed out Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Pacific Design Center in Hollywood, Calif.

The Civil War-themed With Lee In Virginia stars Sean Astin (Woodlawn, Rudy, The Lord Of The Rings, Mom's Night Out), Kirk Cameron (Fireproof, Monumental), Chris Anthony (Adventures In Odyssey) and Blessed (Boss Nass and Clayton in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Tarzan, respectively).

In Freedom's Cause tells the story of Scottish hero William Wallace and stars Golden Globe winner Joanne Froggatt (Anna Bates of Downton Abbey), Billy Boyd (Pippin of The Lord Of The Rings), Skandar Keynes (Edmund of The Chronicles of Narnia series), James Cosmo (Campbell, Father Christmas of Braveheart and The Chronicles of Narnia, respectively) and Blessed.
 
Heirloom Audio's fourth project, The Dragon and the Raven, it set to be released this fall. Its first CD was 2013's Under Drake's Flag.

The purpose of the awards is to "provide an international acknowledgement of the extraordinary skill and artistry that goes into voiceover acting," according to its website.
