BISMARCK, ND April 7, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- The coalition North Dakota Choose Life issued the following statement today regarding the recent endorsement of Measure 1 offered by the North Dakota Republican Party. The measure will appear on the November ballot. The statement may be attributed to Janne Myrdal, Chairwoman of ND Choose Life:
"We are thrilled that the state GOP voted overwhelmingly to endorse Measure 1 this weekend at their annual convention in Minot. They have joined a strong bi-partisan coalition of pro-life, pro-family, women's and religious groups and leaders to encourage adoption of Measure 1, the Human Life Amendment, to preserve our state's strong, commonsense pro-life laws on the books and to provide protection against judges inventing an unfettered right to abortion in the state constitution. Protecting the inalienable right to life of every human being is not a partisan cause, and we welcome the support of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. Indeed, an overwhelming majority of the Legislature including members from both parties acted together to put Measure 1, the Human Life Amendment, on the ballot. We look forward to prevailing on this important issue this November."
The resolution is as follows:
Whereas: Our country's Declaration of Independence identifies one of our unalienable rights to be the right to life, and
Whereas: The North Dakota Republican Party has consistently supported the right to life of every human being, and
Whereas: The National Republican Party has consistently supported the right to life of every human being,
Therefore, be it resolved: The North Dakota Republican Party supports Measure 1 on the November 4, 2014 ballot which says "The inalienable right to life of every human being at any stage of development must be recognized and protected."
