About the Author

Dr. Clementine Msengi is on the faculty of the Center for Doctoral Studies in Educational Leadership at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. In 2003, she received a fellowship from the Echoing Green Foundation and founded a nonprofit organization designed to help refugees and immigrants adjust to American culture and contribute to the well-being of the local community. Dr. Msengi has garnered several awards, including the Outstanding American by Choice Award from the Department of Homeland Security.
