Pastor Steven Andrew: Should Americans Follow Jesus Christ or Pope Francis?

Contact: Pastor Steven Andrew, 877-537-8734

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 23, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Pope Francis says to speak less on abortion and homosexual sins, but is toning down sin what Jesus wants? Barack Obama gives millions of dollars for abortions. Obamacare has abortion. The Supreme Court ruled against God's Marriage and Christians are persecuted because of homosexual laws. "With these violations of God's Word, Jesus calls Americans to speak louder to be pro-life and for God's Marriage of one man and one woman only," said Pastor Steven Andrew, president of USA Christian Ministries and author of "Making A Strong Christian Nation."

Pastor Steven Andrew continued, "What would Jesus do? Jesus gave the most Christ-like and compassionate response. He said, 'Repent, and believe in the Gospel' and 'Go and sin no more.' Shouldn't Christians follow Jesus over the Pope?" Full story.

"The Pope trivializes sin. Abortion and homosexual sin bring God's wrath. Paul says, 'Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them." (Ephesians 5:6-7)

The pastor believes that the reason Americans pay for Planned Parenthood abortions and the Supreme Court disobeyed God is because pastors aren't teaching repentance. The opposite of what the Pope said.

"The Pope mentioned compassion, but how compassionate is it to let people go to hell? God says that murderers and the sexually immoral don't go to Heaven. There is hope. Call on Jesus to forgive your sins," he said.

The pastor applauded those working for pro-life and traditional marriage. He wants more Christians involved.

In his book he explains that the economic problems, corruption, terrorism and loss of liberty are because of God's judgment. "Repenting from foreign gods, abortion, homosexual and other sins will heal our land and fix the economy. Americans should cry out to God for mercy," he said.

"Contrary to what the Pope said, Jesus taught that atheists don't go to Heaven. Jesus said, 'he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him' (John 3:36)," he continued.

The pastor encourages all Christians to walk closely with Jesus by daily prayer and Bible reading.

The pastor leads a nationwide advertising campaign for God's Marriage called "Will You Stand Up for God's Marriage?" He has a daily prayer email to sign up for at USAChristianMinistries.com, a popular Facebook page, and a free covenant Christian nation print.
