LOS ANGELES, Feb. 20, 2023 /Christian Newswire/ -- According to an official Buckingham Palace announcement (https://www.royal.uk/coronation-music-westminster-abbey), King Charles has requested that Andrew Lloyd Webber write the music for his May 6th coronation. Webber said that he will be adapting his composition from Psalm 98. This decision is being celebrated by author and filmmaker Ray Comfort, who is leading an evangelistic outreach in London to coincide with the coronation.

"This will be done in England's most famous church, witnessed by hundreds of millions from around the world," Comfort said. "In other words, the world is going to church -- where they join in a service about Jesus, God and the Bible."

The May 6th coronation of King Charles is going to be deeply spiritual, and will include Charles publicly laying his hand on the Bible and making an oath before God to defend its truths. This includes Psalm 98, which contains some of the most wonderful verses in the Bible. The Scripture uses personification, saying that the rivers and hills will rejoice together when justice finally comes to this world:

    Let the rivers clap their hands;
    Let the hills be joyful together before the Lord,
    For He is coming to judge the earth.
    With righteousness He shall judge the world,
    And the peoples with equity" (Psalm 98:8-9).

"I am incredibly honored to have been asked to compose a new anthem for the coronation," Webber said. "My anthem includes words slightly adapted from Psalm 98. I have scored it for the Westminster Abbey choir and organ, the ceremonial brass and orchestra. I hope my anthem reflects this joyful occasion."

The famous composer has penned some of the most iconic and commercially successful musicals in recent memory. His musical successes include, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat(1967), Jesus Christ Superstar (1971), Evita (1974), Cats (1981), and The Phantom of the Opera (1986).

Comfort shared that when he saw the potential of the coronation service to reach the lost with the gospel, he decided to invite Christians from around the world to travel to London and join his team in distributing evangelistic literature designed to resemble British bank notes, called Coronation Millions.

"I produced a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BGK1fH8Ytk) explaining the potential for this outreach and sent it to my advisory board," Comfort said. "Immediately afterward, someone emailed me and asked what I was working on. I sent him the clip, and he sent the ministry $200,000. I showed it to another gentleman and he sent $100,000.

"So we printed 5,000,000 Coronation Millions, and 500,000 copies of a book called Defender of the Faith, and we're freely giving them away, along with free shipping to anyone in Europe, the United States, Australia or New Zealand. Over 2600 have already signed up to go to London."

Instructions for receiving the free literature and details of the London outreach can be found on www.LivingWaters.com/London.
