SPOKANE, Wash., Aug. 18, 2026 /Christian Newswire/ — United in Crisis – Greater Spokane will open a Disaster Assistance Center to serve individuals and families affected by the Spokane Complex Fires.
Beginning Friday, August 21, through Tuesday, August 25, the Disaster Assistance Center will operate at Family of Faith Community Church, located at 1504 W. Grace Ave., Spokane, WA. Trained volunteers from participating churches will provide emotional and spiritual care, emergency financial assistance, and other disaster-relief services.
Center hours are Friday, August 21, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.; Saturday, August 22, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.; Sunday, August 23, 2:30–6 p.m.; Monday, August 24, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; and Tuesday, August 25, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
All Spokane Complex Fires survivors must first register and set up an appointment at https://uicgs.org/survivor-resources/. Attendees should bring a current form of identification and a recent bill.
“The first days after a disaster bring urgent needs, but recovery continues long after the immediate crisis has passed,” said Daniel Geraci, CEO of United in Crisis. “By bringing churches and trained volunteers together, we can help survivors address immediate challenges and know they will not have to navigate the recovery process alone.”
United in Crisis – Greater Spokane is also preparing to support survivors through the Crisis Relief Shepherd Program. The program pairs trained volunteers with individuals and families to provide consistent support throughout the recovery process. Shepherd volunteers help survivors address emotional, spiritual, physical, and practical needs while connecting them with appropriate assistance.

Monetary donations are greatly needed to help United in Crisis – Greater Spokane and its network of churches care for fire survivors. Contributions may be used to provide:

• Emergency transportation
• Building materials
• Other immediate and long-term recovery assistance
