Vulnerable People Project Urges Immediate International Action to Protect Christian and Palestinian Communities

WEST BANK, April 2, 2026 /Christian Newswire/ — Israeli settlers have intensified a series of violent actions against Palestinian communities across the West Bank, including the historic Christian village of Taybeh and the northern village of Tayasir, according to local sources and reports received by the Vulnerable People Project (VPP).
In Taybeh, settlers have established a new illegal outpost on land belonging to the village, marked by a tent erected on March 17. Since then, residents report daily incursions, with settlers entering the community, targeting property, and threatening families. In a recent escalation, settlers seized control of the village’s quarry, blocking workers from accessing it and threatening to kill the owner if he returns. The loss of the quarry has cut off a vital economic resource for the village.
“This is a direct assault on vulnerable communities and their right to live in safety on their own land,” said Jason Jones, founder of the Vulnerable People Project. “Families are being terrorized, livelihoods are being destroyed, and entire communities — including historic Christian populations — are at risk. The world must not ignore their cries for help.”
Christian residents of Taybeh — one of the last remaining entirely Christian villages in the West Bank — say they are living under constant threat and are urgently appealing to the international community, churches, and world leaders to intervene and stop what they describe as escalating violence and intimidation.
At the same time, in the village of Tayasir in the northern West Bank, settlers have launched violent attacks on residents, assaulting multiple civilians, including an elderly man who was severely beaten. Homes and property have also been targeted, contributing to a growing climate of fear. Reports indicate that settlers have established a presence near the village and are using it as a base for repeated incursions, while residents and emergency responders have at times been prevented from safely accessing affected areas.
These incidents reflect a broader surge in settler violence across the West Bank, with increasing reports of attacks on civilians, property destruction, and efforts to displace vulnerable communities.
“The Vulnerable People Project strongly condemns these actions and calls for immediate international intervention to protect civilians and ensure accountability,” said Jason Jones. “Continued inaction will not only endanger lives but may also accelerate the displacement of long-established communities, further destabilizing the region and threatening its religious and cultural diversity.”
