About the Author
Anthony Profeta is an Italian-American Catholic contemplative teacher, author, and sound therapist. He was educated in Catholic elementary and middle schools and graduated from an all-boys Jesuit high school in Bergen County, New Jersey — a formation that rooted him deeply in the Ignatian tradition of discernment, prayer, and service. He later studied contemplative prayer and lectio divina in a Franciscan monastery in Italy, an experience that drew him into the living Franciscan charism at its source.
With over 26 years of contemplative practice — including extended time in Franciscan and Benedictine monastic communities — he has trained under some of the most respected teachers in the global contemplative tradition. He is affiliated with a major medical institution, a featured teacher on Insight Timer, and leads annual contemplative pilgrimages to sacred sites worldwide.
