By Women, for Women: Taking on the Sex Trade, One Job at a Time
Contact: Barbara Hubbard, Freegrance Products LLC, 434-401-1267

LYNCHBURG, Va., July 20, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- On July 25, 2016, Lynchburg residents Patrick and Barbara Hubbard will launch a brand-new company that will extend a helping hand to women trapped in the sex trafficking industry. The company, Freegrance Products LLC, will sell products like soaps and earrings - handmade by women affected by the sex trade - to consumers in the United States through its website, freegrance.com. In addition, Freegrance will invest 40% of its profits into job creation for at-risk women around the world.

Freegrance, Barbara Hubbard says, is an ultimate "win-win."

"With Freegrance," she says, "consumers can buy quality products that are useful [to them] and [at the same time] help women change their lives."

While the Hubbards agree that human trafficking earns its share of media coverage, they still believe the key issue - poverty - is being grossly overlooked. According to Barbara, women in the sex trafficking industry are not always forced to sell their bodies.

For many women living in abject poverty, a brothel is their only choice for survival.

"They can no longer stand to hear their children cry themselves to sleep from hunger," Barbara says.

In response, Freegrance reaches out to women in countries like Brazil, Thailand, and Cambodia and offers more than a charitable handout. Instead, the company engages these women on a more impactful level through product development and job creation, enabling both the victims and their families to support themselves apart from the ravages of the sex trade.

"By empowering women through job creation," Barbara says, "we are equipping them to care for themselves, their families, and their communities."
