ENUMCLAW, Wash., Jan. 7 /Christian Newswire/ -- The "golden years" of retirement have arrived and after years of hard work, one should kick back and watch the world go by, right? Not Dick and Florence Nogaj. This new life chapter would provide opportunities for them to put their faith into action. It would be a time for activism not cynicism; commitment not contentment; not just talking the talk, but walking the walk as well. Dick Nogaj's new book, "Don’t Retire, Get Inspired," tells the story of his and his wife's commitment to action.

After selling his successful engineering company back to the employees, Dick Nogaj ("no-jay") and his wife Florence decided that their retirement would involve much more than endless rounds of golf and games of canasta. One of their first commitments to action was to launch a Habitat for Humanity affiliate in DuPage County, Illinois. They later founded two not-for-profit organizations to aid farm workers and limited-income families in Immokalee, Florida. Through Harvest for Humanity they sought to provide farm workers with higher wages. They also built Jubilation as a model housing community offering homes that limited-income families could afford along with access to higher education for all residents of the Immokalee area.

"This is an inspiring and compelling story of how life can be renewed by good works." -- Scott Turow, attorney and best-selling author.

"An incredible journey of passion and compassion. Mr. and Mrs. Nogaj set an example of how you can give back and certainly nourish the notion that you are not done with your life after retirement... A must read for all people of good will." -- Luis E. Pelayo, Founder and President of the Hispanic Council of Chicago.

Dick Nogaj's experiences creating and running not-for-profit organizations gives the reader an insider's look at how dreams become action, how to overcome setbacks, and how everyday people who share a desire to improve the world can make a difference--and the amazing relationships that develop as a result.
