LOS ANGELES, June 5, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- In what is becoming the most "scariest Christian movie of the decade," pastors, politicians, leaders, and Hollywood stars will join several hundred people from more than six countries to watch a film on the days immediately following the Rapture based on the novel.

'Final: The Rapture' will premiere at LA LIVE theater, the new venue in Downtown LA.

"I wanted to make a very clinical, realistic film on the coming Rapture," says Director Tim Chey ('The Genius Club,' 'Suing the Devil'). "There's no cartoon anti-Christ, cartoon anything. It's a very sobering look at what will happen in the next great event of mankind: Christ returning for his church."

'Final: The Rapture' was filmed in six countries and took almost five months of shooting.

Is Chey worried the film is too scary?

"It's most definitely not for children under 13," he says. "There's no profanity, sex, or anything like that. But I made this film to scare the living daylights out of adult non-Believers."

The film is slated to open nationwide in theaters in the U.S. on October 2013.

Breathtaking, gripping, layered, and astonishing, 'Final: The Rapture' is a gritty, international tale of four separate stories woven together by a common theme: the Rapture.

In Los Angeles, Colin Nelson desperately attempts to flee to Bora Bora. Keenly aware that he's in the Tribulation period, his only hope is in a mysterious man. In Tokyo, a journalist, Masashi, tries to unravel the disappearance of millions of people as the government closes in on him. In Buenos Aires, Marie searches for her final relative as time runs out. And on a deserted island in the South Pacific, Tom Wiseman, an avowed atheist, attempts to be rescued after his plane goes down.
