WASHINGTON, May 10, 2022 /Christian Newswire/ -- The group will meet at the Supreme Court on Wednesday, May 11, at 12:00 PM and then walk over to the U.S. Capitol.

Senate Majority Leader Schumer has scheduled a vote to "codify" Roe on Wednesday.  Here is link to the story: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-senate-vote-wednesday-abortion-rights-bill-schumer-says-2022-05-08/

The event is organized by Stanton Public Policy Center/Purple Sash Revolution, which is a women's advocacy and educational group that works on issues of human rights and justice which empower and inspire women. It is affiliated with Stanton Healthcare which has life-affirming women's health clinics in America and internationally.

Brandi Swindell, Founder and CEO of Stanton Healthcare, states;

    "As an advocate for women, human rights and justice, it is deeply troubling Senator Schumer will schedule a vote which would offer unfettered access to abortion for the full 9 months of pregnancy. Codifying Roe v. Wade does not uplift women or advance justice and equality.

    "Rather it is legislation which promotes violence against children and treats women as a commodity. Our political leaders must do better in uplifting America and ensuring human rights for all."

Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Chief Strategy Officer for Stanton Public Policy Center, comments;

    "It is unconscionable for Senator Schumer to promote legislation which would codify Roe v. Wade, a Supreme Court decision which has resulted in the deaths of 63,000,000 innocent children. This vote will be similar to codifying segregation or denying women the right to vote.

    "Elected officials must do all in their power to protect human rights and ensure equality for the most marginalized and disenfranchised in our society. We are gathering to 'pray and protest' at the US Capitol to be a voice for justice and ask God to protect America's greatest natural resource, our children."
