Christian Newswire/ -- The Institute for Religion and Democracy will convene a conference of prominent theologians to discuss and analyze "People of the Land: A Twenty-First Century Case for Zionism."
"Evangelical Christians have been a reliable source of support for Israel. But, in recent years, institutions such as Evangelical schools and mission groups are increasingly supporting Palestinian activism." said Mark Tooley, President of the Institute for Religion and Democracy.
The sources examined at the conference include: Can Christian Zionism be defended in the twenty-first century? Theologically? Historically? Can it be defended in ways that are consistent with Jewish and Christian scriptures? Are its legal, moral, and political outworkings compatible with the ideals of the biblical covenant?
