Dr. Paul Crouch, founder and President of the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), passed away on November 30, 2013. He was 79 years of age. For about ten years Dr. Crouch had degenerative heart disease.

Dr. Crouch had a passion for missions to the military, such that he visited the troops in Baghdad and invited military personnel on the air at Trinity Broadcasting Network, which encompasses 26 global networks and affiliates around the world. One such guest was retired US Army Chaplain (MAJOR) Jim Linzey who recalls the honor of being with Dr. Crouch on "Behind the Scenes" and when singing on TBN with the Vanguard Chorale when he was a student at Southern California College. "Dr. Crouch was a deeply spiritual man and extremely professional. He was absolutely a delight to be with and discuss anything in front of the camera. I appreciated the opportunity to talk about military ministry in the Middle East." Chaplain Linzey also opened the "Praise the Lord" program with prayer at Dr. Crouch's invitation.

Chaplain Linzey honored Dr. Crouch with a Certificate of Appreciation from Operation Freedom for the support the Crouch's have given to the troops during their entire ministry. Trinity Broadcasting Network has been the all-time favorite Christian television network among the troops due to the prayers offered up for the troops, the patriotic programs shown, for promoting chaplaincy ministries, and for literally going to the Middle East to engage in ministry of presence among allied and American troops.

Dr. Crouch has led tens of thousands of troops to a commitment to Jesus Christ since TBN's humble beginnings with one low-powered station in Tustin, California, in the 1970s. Dr. Crouch's favorite passage, showing his priorities in life and ministry, was the Great Commission:

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20, NKJV).
