US Capitol Bible Marathon Kick-Off to be Live Streamed

WASHINGTON, April 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- The National Capitol Bible Reading Marathon kick-off prayer service this Sunday evening, April 29, at 6:00 P.M. on the West Lawn of the United States Capitol in Washington, DC, will be video and audio streamed on the Internet at www.FaithAndAction.org.

 

The Marathon is a public reading of the entire Bible that lasts four and a half days. The reading will conclude at 2:00 P.M. on the National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 3.

 

Churches, groups and organizations are invited to log-on at any time during a two-hour service of prayer and consecration and join volunteers and special guests as the video is streamed from the event site. The official reading of the Bible will begin immediately following the kick-off service at 8:00 P.M.

 

The Reverend Rob Schenck, president of Faith and Action, a Christian missionary outreach to officials on Capitol Hill, will join Marathon director Pastor Michael Hall to read the opening verses of Genesis. Mr. Ronnie Wexler, chairman of the National Ten Commandments Commission and an Orthodox Jew from Israel, will read the remainder of the chapter in Hebrew.

 

Audio of all 90+ hours of the Marathon will be carried live at www.FaithAndAction.org.  Segments of live video will also be broadcast periodically and posted for later downloading and viewing.
