PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 18, 2021 /Christian Newswire/ -- To help parishioners continue to remain active in the Church and participate in the liturgy, OCP has released their new easy-to-use digital worship resource, the Breaking Bread 2021 eMissal app.

The app features instant access to music, readings, prayers and the Order of Mass, providing churchgoers with everything needed to take part in the celebration of Mass. Users can prepare for each service ahead of time by adding songs, psalms settings and Gospel Acclamations to specific liturgies. The app can be used both at home during livestreamed Masses and in church, as it is approved by the USCCB for use in Mass during the 2021 liturgical year. Containing the songs and texts from one of OCP's most popular missals, the Breaking Bread 2021 eMissal app serves as an alternative to the Parishioner Personal Missal Program — similarly created to assist the faithful during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jordan W. of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oregon says, "I really appreciated the simplicity, and the music is easy to read on my tablet."

What's included:

  • Over 850 songs, psalms and Gospel Acclamations
  • Readings for Sundays and holy days
  • Order of Mass

The app is available for all iOS and Android users, and costs just $4.99 for the entire 2021 liturgical year.

"OCP is proud and excited to offer this new app, just in time for Lent," says Publisher Wade Wisler. "It helps people stay engaged with their parish community, to enter deeply into the Word of God, and to otherwise pray, worship and sing along with the Church in its daily and weekly liturgical rhythm. All from the convenience of their phones. That's why we developed it. We recognized the challenge people have at this time, especially with church attendance so limited. We hope it helps people stay close to Christ and grow in faith."
