Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, and spokesperson for the Pelletier family, states,

"Justina has come to Washington, D.C. for the first time since her release to share her troubling treatment under the care of Massachusetts DCF with members of Congress and advocacy groups.

"Her hope is that by sharing her story, no individual or family in America will ever have to experience what she and her family went through.

"We are thankful to Congresswoman Bachmann who has introduced 'Justina's Law,' a bipartisan bill that will protect parental and individual rights.

"The issues surrounding Justina's case are not partisan and the idea of protecting parental rights and children under the care of the State, should be embraced by all members of Congress regardless of political affiliation."
