Group to Hold Press Conference and Rally, Nov. 16, 1:30 PM on Steps of Justice Department, Washington, DC and Prayer Vigil Outside Human Rights Campaign Offices

WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 /Christian Newswire/ -- Bishop E.W. Jackson Sr., voices strong objections to associating the "Gay Rights" cause with racial discrimination. "The conflation of the struggle for civil rights by black people with the demands of homosexuals," says Jackson, "is one of the most preposterous frauds ever perpetrated on the American people." He is a black Minister, Attorney, graduate of Harvard Law School, does weekly national commentary on Radio America and USA Radio Network and writes frequently on matters of race.

Jackson and his organization have joined with the Coalition For Freedom of Religious Expression to make clear their objection to Hate Crimes Legislation recently signed by the President. Some of the other Coalition members are Dr. Rick Scarborough, President of Vision America Action, Gary Cass of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission, Brian Camenker of Mass Resistance (a group which has fought gay marriage in the Bay State), Paul Blair and Steve Kern of Reclaim Oklahoma, Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, Brad Cranston of Iowa Baptists for Biblical Values, and Jim Garlow, a leader of the Prop 8 battle in California, which overturned the judicial imposition of gay marriage.

The group will deliver a letter written by Attorney Matt Staver of Liberty University to Attorney General Eric Holder. They will then hold a press conference and rally on the steps of the Justice Department. The event will end with a prayer meeting held outside the offices of the Human Rights Campaign. Says Bishop Jackson, "Christians are constantly accused of hatred. So we are going to the very doorstep of those who say we hate them and pray FOR them. They need God's love and healing in their lives. In the meantime, they will not be allowed to remake our culture in their image. We will STAND for the vision our Founding Fathers intended as "one nation under God."

Jackson, through his organization, STAND -- Staying True to America's National Destiny, is calling on Christians and ministers to STAND up and speak up against the Hate Crimes Bill, which he calls, "one of the most egregious government encroachments on our First Amendment Rights in our history."
