Stem Cell Conflict: Pro-Life Leaders Address Compromise Legislation

Contact: Kimberly Zenarolla, NPLAC, 202-494-4410, kzenarolla@nplac.org

WASHINGTON, July 17 /Christian Newswire/ -- This Monday, July 17, 2006, at 1:15 pm representatives from the National Pro-Life Action Center on Capitol Hill (NPLAC)—in conjunction with representatives from several other organizations—will hold a press conference to address why the federal funding of embryonic stem cell research is ethically, morally and financially corrupt.  The press conference will include moral positions on the controversial Santorum-Specter “compromise” bill.

The press conference begins at 1:15 p.m. immediately following Senator Brownback’s press conference at noon.  The event will take place outside of the main entrance to the Hart building on Constitution near 2nd St NE.

“There must be a vision guiding our scientific experimentation, a vision that respects all human life from the first moment of its existence,” stated Kimberly Zenarolla, director of strategic development for NPLAC.  “This so-called compromise legislation leaves the door open for the manufacture of defective embryos and the exploitation of economically disadvantaged women for their eggs.”
