HUME, Calif., Aug. 24, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- Hume Lake Christian Camps announced the cancellation of the annual Country Fair due to the impact of the ongoing Rough Fire. The fair was scheduled for September 5th.

The Country Fair has been a tradition for the camp for almost 50 years and is the largest single day fundraiser every year. As the firefighting operation continues around Hume Lake prayer and financial support are needed. Instead of attending the Country Fair this year, please consider donating.

Hume Lake Christian Camps is a year-round youth camp and adult retreat center providing high-energy, life-changing programs for churches, schools, teams and groups. Since 1946, more than one million campers have gone through this ministry and experienced the love and power of a life lived in Christ through recreation, music and speaking.

The Rough Fire began with a lightning strike on July 31, 2015 and now encompasses about 50,000 acres.
