Catholic Families for America Begins Nationwide Pro-Family Voter Rallies for 2010 Elections; First Stop Set for Wichita, Kansas, on January 19th

CFA Executive Director: "With American families continuing to feel the pinch of liberals' economic ineptitude and the punch of their attack on traditional values, we are stepping up our efforts to restore a pro-family, traditional values majority in Congress. We are proud to initiate this nationwide town-hall tour in the heartland--Wichita, Kansas--where we will endorse Jim Anderson for Congress."

WICHITA, Kans., Jan. 12 /Christian Newswire/ -- Dr. Kevin Roberts, executive director of the Catholic grassroots advocacy group, Catholic Families for America (CFA), will travel to Wichita for a Tuesday, January 19th, 7PM town-hall meeting at Kaupan Mt. Carmel High School. The meeting is the first in a series of town-hall gatherings the group will host in 2010 throughout the country.

"It is an abomination that 54% of self-described Catholics voted for the most pro-abortion candidate in American history," Roberts said. "President Obama's first year in office proves the folly of the moral gamble that those Catholics made."

A frequent critic of high-profile public officials he calls "Catholic In Name Only," Roberts will speak on the responsibilities of Roman Catholics in the public square.

"As I said in October, when Catholic Families for America first endorsed Jim Anderson, he is a rock-solid, traditional values conservative who is running to protect the Constitution, the security of Kansas families and stop overblown spending," said Dr. Kevin Roberts, executive director for CFA.

At the event, Catholic, conservative, and traditional voters can learn more about how they can impact elections and public policy. Roberts commented, "Across the country people are angry and energized, but they just don't know what to do, our job is to help them focus those energies to produce results."

Dr. Roberts concluded by stating why he chose Jim Anderson, Wichita, and the 4th district, for the first stop: "If the 115,000 Catholics in the Wichita diocese vote with properly-formed consciences that are in line with Church teaching, then morally upstanding--and personally outstanding--candidates like Jim Anderson will help us take back our republic," Roberts explained. "In a lot of ways, Wichita and the 4th District race could very well become a model for energizing and informing Catholic voters, who, because of their numbers, might be the answer to the electoral frustrations most Americans feel right now."

Catholic Families for America is a nationwide grassroots organization run by lay Catholics, with offices in Austin, Texas, and Washington, D.C.
