Christian Newswire/ -- Embroiled in an intense battle for Life, pro-life Texans will pause to rally the troops Monday night, as they head into a week filled with floor debates and final votes over the historic omnibus pro-life bill.
In the wake of shocking and brutal conditions in clinics run by Kermit Gosnell and Houston's Douglas Karpen, national leaders are eager to encourage Texans in their fight to restrict abortion after five months and better protect women by improving clinic standards. They will lead the rally on the South Steps of the Capitol this evening, Monday, July 8th, beginning at 7 p.m.
Confirmed speakers include Governor and Mrs. Mike Huckabee, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their daughter, Josie (born at 25 weeks), Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave of Susan B. Anthony List, Concerned Women for America's Penny Nance, and March for Life's Jeanne Monahan.
Also on hand to encourage the crowd will be Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst and Attorney General Greg Abbott. Pro-life legislators on the front lines of this battle will join us as well.
Pro-life Texans have repeatedly flexed their muscle by electing large majorities of pro-life senators and representatives. Weeks of unruly, even paid protestors, working to subvert the legislative process, however, have made it imperative that pro-life supporters visibly #stand4life with their lawmakers at the Capitol--and tonight they will!
