TRENTON, N.J., Feb. 6, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today, the New Jersey Committee for Life (NJCL), the state affiliate of the National Right to Life Committee, issued a call to action for all New Jersey citizens concerned about protecting the lives of older people, people with disabilities, and medically vulnerable citizens. The Health and Senior Services Committee of the New Jersey Assembly is scheduled to vote tomorrow on a bill, A3328, that would legalize doctor-prescribed suicide in the state. The bill, sponsored by Assemblymen John Burzichelli (D-3) and Timothy Eustace (D-38), would make it legal for doctors to provide dangerous, lethal drugs to certain patients. A companion bill (S2259) has been introduced in the state Senate by Senators Joseph Vitale (D-19), Nicholas Scutari (D-22) and Donald Norcross (D-5).

"This bill would put the lives of older people, those with disabilities, and medically vulnerable citizens in danger," said Anne Perone, J.D., president of New Jersey Committee for Life. "No one should be made to feel that suicide is their only viable option; especially not by a doctor who should be a healer. New Jersey Committee for Life calls on all concerned citizens to contact members of the Health and Senior Services Committee and urge them to vote against this deadly bill."

The following members of the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee should be contacted and urged to vote "no" on A3328, a bill that would legalize doctor-prescribed death in New Jersey:
