PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 12, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- The long-awaited new album from acclaimed contemporary Catholic musician Tom Booth will celebrate its debut with a U.S. tour kicking off in Scottsdale later this month. Time Stands Still, published by Spirit & Song, marks the 11th solo collection from this highly regarded veteran Catholic composer.

Recorded in Nashville, Tenn. as well as in Tom's home-state of Arizona, listeners will delight in everything from bluegrass to ballads, and praise and worship songs to contemplative liturgical pieces and everything in between. Working with critically acclaimed Matt Maher, Tom co-wrote "By the Love of God," a strong liturgical and sacramental worship song chosen as the theme song for the National Catholic Youth Conference in 2013.

"It's my hope that people will hear the diversity in musical styles and lyrical content and know that it's okay to experiment; to create from the heart; and to sing his praises in whatever way we are called," says Booth. "There are contemplative texts like 'The Jesus Song' and 'Tear Through the Veil' right alongside rambunctious songs like 'More Than Conquerors.' They all come together quite nicely in one collection. Unity through diversity works in music as well as in human relationships."

Booth has organized a multi-leg U.S. tour kicking off Wednesday, December 17 in Tempe, Arizona. Details are available at ocp.org/events or on Booth's Facebook page, facebook.com/TomBoothAZ.
