CHICAGO, June 30, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally details announced:

WHAT: Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally

WHO: Citizens who cherish religious liberty and oppose the HHS contraceptive mandate

WHEN: TODAY, Monday, June 30, 2014 at noon, 12 p.m. (Central)

WHERE: Federal Plaza, Adams and Dearborn Streets, Chicago

WHY: When the Obama administration announced the Health and Humans Services mandate, compelling all employers to provide free contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs in their health plans, citizens across the United States took to the streets to protest. These Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rallies launched the opposition to the HHS Mandate, which then moved into the nation's courts.

Now citizens are taking to the streets again, this time to celebrate Hobby Lobby's victory in the United States Supreme Court, challenging the HHS mandate. In a Supreme Court 5-4 ruling, the high court has struck down the Mandate as applied to businesses such as Hobby Lobby, restoring to business owners the religious freedom protections they are guaranteed under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Speakers at the rally include Eric Scheidler, a National Coordinator for the Coalition to Stop the HHS Mandate and Executive Director of the Pro-Life Action League, along with Peter Breen, Vice President and Senior Counsel of the Thomas More Society, and Emily Zender, Executive Director of Illinois Right to Life, will address the significance of this Supreme Court ruling.

Following the rally, speakers will be available for media comment.
