HOUSTON, Oct. 3, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- What does it mean to be One Nation Under God? Author Richard Capriola's new book, "A Nation Under Judgment," examines our nation's policies from a Scriptural rather than political point of view. It paints a picture of a nation abandoning God's point of view for a political agenda.

In addition to examining social policies such as hunger, poverty, income inequality, marriage, abortion and the environment from a public policy and Scriptural point of view, Capriola's book examines the role of campaign contributions versus God's point of view in shaping our national agenda.

Christian reviews of "A Nation Under Judgment" have been impressive. Heather Randall, CEO of Christian Women Affiliate said the book is "well researched and scripturally based." Another Christian reviewer said "Every legislator, and every believer, apologetic, preacher and evangelist needs this resource on their shelves."

Secular reviews have also been impressive. Richard Blake, writing for Reader Views, said the book "is a clarion call to the dangers of national pride, indifference, exploitation, current trends, and of the danger of a nation moving away from God's point of view." Lee Ashford writing for Readers' Favorite said the book "is a biblical indictment of today's America, as we have watched the systematic removal of God from our schools, our legislation and our national conscience."

Capriola's book makes an impressive argument that our nation's public policies are pushing the country away from God. His book outlines the fate of other great and powerful nations from the past that abandoned God's point of view. He said those nations are now found only in the pages of history books and warns the United States may be headed for a similar fate.

As we approach another election day one reviewer commented "Your book could not be more timely than it is right now, and I sincerely hope several million people read it before election day."

"A Nation Under Judgment" is published by Mill City Press. It is available in both paperback and e-book editions.

Richard Capriola spend many years as a hospital chaplain. He completed four years of clinical pastoral education in preparation for his chaplaincy work in a trauma based hospital. He has led a church based outreach ministry and served as a mental health counselor at both a regional crisis center and psychiatric hospital.
