NASHVILLE, Dec. 14 /Christian Newswire/ -- NRB Network presents new primetime programming for the whole family on Christmas Eve. The special three-hour lineup starts at 7 pm ET and can be seen on DIRECTV channel 378.

"After all the shopping is done and everyone is settled in, we hope our viewers will tune in and enjoy family time with these wonderful shows that focus on the true meaning of Christmas," said Troy Miller, President and COO of NRB Network.

First to air is Christmas Journey to Freedom produced by Day of Discovery. The last of three installments, this broadcast will take viewers back in time to experience Harriet Tubman's Christmas journey to freedom along the Underground Railroad. The dramatic presentation features soloist Wintley Phipps, actress Gwendolyn Briley-Strand and historian Dr. Allen Callahan. Parts one and two of this moving special can be seen on Tuesday, Dec. 22 and Wednesday, Dec. 23 respectively. All installments air at 7 pm ET.

Following Christmas Journey to Freedom is Star Over Bethlehem at 7:30 pm ET. Produced by Vision Video and filmed on location in the Holy Land, this film will give viewers new insight into the Christmas story from the Annunciation in Nazareth to the Nativity in Bethlehem.

What is the true meaning of Christmas? Actress Karolyn Grimes from It's A Wonderful Life explores this question in Christmas Unwrapped at 8 pm ET. This informative documentary discovers forgotten traditions and examines the meanings of holiday symbols like the Christmas tree.

Next at 9 pm ET is The Census and The Star. This special program will lead viewers on a journey following the star of Bethlehem as the Magi did over two thousand years ago to find the answer to the question: What really happened on the first Christmas?

Rounding out NRB Network's special Christmas Eve programming at 9:30 pm ET is Nativity: Art and Spirit of The Creche. The nativity scene, Christianity's most recognizable symbol next to the cross, has been depicted by cultures around the world. In this uplifting program, collectors and theologians share a fascinating array of nativity scenes collected from around the world.

Viewers are invited to gather the family and tune in to NRB Network (DIRECTV channel 378) on Christmas Eve beginning at 7:00 pm ET.
