MEDIA ADVISORY, October 17 /Christian Newswire/ -- Smuggler's Ransom, starring Anthony Tyler Quinn (Boy Meets World) plays twice next week at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival, sponsored by Vision Forum. The festival (October 25th-27th) marks the next stop on a long road for Smuggler's Ransom, originally designed as a play for street ministry in Brooklyn, New York during the 1980's.
The film version, executive produced and co-directed by Daniel Noa and Brandon Rice, diverts from the normal Christian-film formula by mixing action with a gospel message. A sort of Bourne Identity for the Christian film industry, Smuggler's Ransom uses filmmaking techniques and conventions previously only seen in the secular market. "I think filmmakers who are Christians should make the best films," says Quinn, who signed on to do Smuggler's out of love for the script, which was passed to him via a friend.
Following the festival, Smuggler's Ransom will be available for purchase on DVD via the official website (www.SmugglersRansom.com) as well as through selected retailers. For more information, contact Daniel Noa or Brandon Rice at firstname.lastname@example.org.
