SAN DIEGO, March 1, 2022 /Christian Newswire/ -- Catholic Answers senior apologist Jimmy Akin will debate bestselling author Bart D. Ehrman Thursday, March 24, on the historical reliability of the Gospels. Ehrman is a popular New Testament textual critic who was once an Evangelical Christian and is now agnostic.

"This is a dream matchup," said Catholic Answers chief operating officer Jon Sorensen. "We have been seeking opportunities like this for some time, and we are pleased to host a debate on such a crucial topic."

Online attendees can watch the livestream on Catholic Answers' YouTube channel. "If interest in this debate is extensive," Sorensen said, "we will definitely look toward hosting more events like it."
