PORTLAND, Ore., May 15, 2019 /Christian Newswire/ -- Hosted by the Luis Palau Association and local churches, the Show & Tell gathering on May 30 is expected to host hundreds of people from throughout the Portland/Vancouver area for an inspiring, conversational event focused on personal evangelism. Attendees will be moved to practical, natural, and even easy ways to connect the Good News to their community.

The Show & Tell gathering will be on May 30 at Cedar Mill Bible Church, 12208 NW Cornell Rd, Portland, OR 97229. The day features two separate events – a lunch gathering for local leaders and an evening event for local believers.

The Ted Talk style events will feature powerful live testimonies from six local individuals who have recently made a decision for Jesus, as well as practical teaching from nationally-known leaders, including Mark Mittelberg (Becoming a Contagious Christian), Shaila Visser (Alpha), and Greg Stier (Dare 2 Share).

"We all need help and inspiration in knowing how we can better share Jesus with our friends and neighbors. That's why we're gathering," says Kevin Palau, president of the Luis Palau Association. "We're asking, 'What's at the heart of sharing our faith?' We love Portland. We love people in this great city. We want to be more actively engaged and confident in sharing our faith. Just think what could happen if we all felt equipped, prepared, and fully confident in our ability to share the Good News message. Sharing our faith should be natural and exciting! Show & Tell is going to be a wonderful night of inspiration and encouragement for all of us."

As a special addition to the Show & Tell gathering, Luis Palau – who was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in December 2017 – will join with attendees for an informal launch party for his new book, a spiritual memoir titled "Palau: A Life on Fire." This very personal book features never-before-told stories as Palau recounts his childhood and early years of ministry. Each chapter is focused on an individual who helped shape his life and hinges on a foundational lesson that will inspire and challenge readers. The book is currently available for pre-sale, and will officially launch June 4. Learn more at www.PalauTheBook.org.
