DALLAS, March 8, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- They are leaving it all behind to embark on a symbolic journey depicting America's tragic path of abortion and taking a stand for life. Saturday, March 17, 39 young women from across the country, representing the 39 years of legalized abortion, will step out for the 21-day "Back to Life Movement" across Texas. Starting in Houston at America's reportedly largest abortion clinic, across more than 250 miles to where it began with Roe vs. Wade at the Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse in Dallas, these courageous women will walk for their personal stories in remembrance and in healing prayer for America.

"When we look at those who speak out on both sides of the abortion issue, they are not the demographic in the middle of this debate -- the 20-something aged woman," says Laura Z. Allred, founder of The Back to Life Movement. "As a purposeful and sacrificial pilgrimage, this walk will give voice to a generation of women who have not known life without the devastation of abortion. In this pivotal election year, it will summon thousands of hearts to rally together so that these young voices will be heard."

Abortion has killed more than 54.5 million American babies since Roe v Wade. Current public opinion is leaning to the pro-life stance. According to a 2011 Gallup survey, the majority of Americans (51 percent) believe abortion is morally wrong.

During the walk Allred and participants will share their prayer journey and stories during daily webcasts on the "Back to Life Movement" site. Some of these courageous women are post abortive, some are survivors of potential abortion, and others are walking with a passion to speak out on behalf of the women of this era.

After being cheered on by hundreds at the start, the Back to Life Movement walk will culminate on Good Friday, April 6, with the women marching to a courthouse rally in Dallas. It will lead up to a massive two-day Esther Call event of thousands of women at the Dallas Convention Center, hosted by Pastor Lou Engle, and led by Allred and others. Visit thecall.com.
