/ -- Former Arkansas governor and Fox News host Mike Huckabee is partnering with an American Christian movement - ALL IN - asking Christians to participate in acts of service to show their faith and the love of Christ for others on Good Friday, April 3, 2015.
Huckabee says, "I've always been inspired by the scripture James 2:18, 'Show me your faith without works and I'll show you my faith by my works.' We know that our faith must be alive in our hearts, active and lived out. When it comes to being people of faith we must be fully committed. That's why I've partnered with an incredible organization, ALL IN for an amazing day of national service: Do Good on Good Friday. We all know the greatest act of love, kindness and servanthood happened on Good Friday more than 2,000 years ago. This year on Good Friday we are calling for ALL Christians to do one kind act, one good thing on Good Friday."
The 'Do Good on Good Friday' event website, www.DoGoodFriday2015.com
, offers an online pledge form where people from across the country can pledge to participate and also to pray for others during the event. ALL IN founder, Michael Phillips, said, "We want to engage and mobilize the people of God to remind our country what authentic Christianity looks like. We want every person in America to understand who God is and how much He loves them because we believe that changes everything."
Individuals, churches, nonprofit organizations, and schools across America will be encouraged to participate. Individuals participating can install a free mobile application on their phone. When they perform an act of service, they will click a button that counts the act of service by posting a short message to the social media hashtag #DoGoodFriday. Additionally, several high-impact projects for churches, schools, and organizations are being developed.
"Our goal is to have millions of people serving and praying in a single day in honor of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us on the cross," said Phillips.
"Let us blanket the country with a day that best demonstrates our faith-a day of doing good. Please go to www.DoGoodFriday2015.com
and join me today to pledge to do good on Good Friday," Huckabee said.
