Pro-Life Rally at Texas Capitol on Sat., Jan. 26, to Commemorate 35th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

AUSTIN, Jan. 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- Thousands of Texans from many parts of the state are expected to travel to the state Capitol on Saturday, January 26, 2008 to attend the Texas Rally for Life, a peaceful march and rally. The Rally will commemorate the 35th anniversary of the tragic Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision on January 22, 1973. That decision has resulted in over 48 million abortions, harming unborn children, women, and men. The Rally's message will be "Protect Every Heart."

After gathering at 1:00 pm at Republic Square, at 1:30 p.m. the crowd will march east on 4th Street and north on Congress Avenue to the State Capitol for the Rally from 2-3 p.m.

 

Speakers include:

·         Most Rev. Gregory Aymond, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Austin.

·         Texas State Representative Nathan Macias (Dist. 73, New Braunfels)

·         Dr. Alveda King, niece of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
