Contact: Joe Gulsvig, 413-977-2192

MIDDLEFIELD, Conn., May 15, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- On Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, the 2014 New England Conference for Truth will take place at Victory Christian Church in Middlefield, CT. The theme this year is "Jesus. Explained." Registration is Free.

The Conference will interest spiritual seekers, Bible skeptics and Christian believers with a three-fold purpose. Seekers will discover why the Christian worldview withstands the test of "reason;" skeptics will be able to challenge the expert speakers in respectful dialogue during a Q&A session; believers will gain tools to substantiate their hope and faith.

Speakers and their topics include:

  • Mike Licona (co-author, The Case for the Resurrection of Jesus with Gary Habermas): Is the Bible Reliable, and Is the Resurrection a Historical Fact?

  • Alex McFarland (Director of the Center for Christian Worldview and Apologetics at North Greenville University): What is Truth?

  • John DePoe (Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Marywood University): Does God Exist?

Joe Gulsvig, one of the conference organizers, is Regional Director of Ratio Christi, an organization that places chapters on college and university campuses to help students learn how to defend their belief in Christ using philosophical, historical and scientific reasons. The idea for this local, church-hosted conference came about from one of Gulsvig's Chapter Directors.

"Along with a chapter director, Rich Porter, and his pastor Peter Leal at Victory Christian Church, we felt a conference could be a 'first floor' effort to educate people that the Christian faith is reasonable while also encouraging more Christians to develop their Christian apologetics education as a way to improve evangelism efforts," Gulsvig explains.

Victory Christian Church is at 191 Meriden Road (Rte 66) in Middlefield.
Conference Hours are: Friday 6:30pm to 9:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 AM to 4:00 pm.
Lunch will be available for purchase on Saturday.

How to Register: Online at Victory Christian Church or by calling 860-346-6771. The conference is free, seating is limited. Register early.
