SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., Feb. 19, 2019 /Christian Newswire/ -- A new website designed to assist military couples has been created by Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME), the original faith-based marriage enrichment program. The website will provide military couples both in the United States and Canada with marriage enrichment information, it was announced today by Dave & Lucy Snyder and Fr. Camillus Gott, the WWME North American Military (NAMSO) ecclesial team.

"We are extremely pleased to unveil the WWME website directed at military couples and families serving in both the United States and Canada. The website's link is www.foryourmilitarymarriage.com and it is also directly connected to wwme.org and will be listed shortly on the United States Catholic Conference Board (USCCB) website, the ecclesial team said.

The United States leadership team Tony & Sue Morris and Fr. Tom Ogg said they were thankful for the website unveiling and excited that military couples will be able to strengthen their marriages via WWME programs offered on or near their military bases.

Joe & Sue Talarico and Fr. Salvador Ahumada, the North American Leadership Team, added that making the new military website available for Canadian military couples is another step in expanding the mission of Worldwide Marriage Encounter across North America.

ForYourMilitaryMarriage.com, is an initiative of Worldwide Marriage Encounter to enrich, affirm and encourage military married couples in their relationships and families, and to offer the resources and support of an online network of Catholic military married couples of every age and every stage of married life.

The North American Military Services Outreach (NAMSO) began in 2001, when Bishop Jack Kaising of the Archdiocese of Military Services (AMS) approached WWME to consider an outreach to married military couples. In the next year, WWME developed the outreach and appointed the Snyders, a WWME leadership and an experienced military couple (Dave is retired from the US Army), to coordinate with Bishop Kaising. Since that time, the outreach has included many initiatives to promote marriage enrichment opportunities. In 2016, the outreach expanded to include the Canadian military services. NAMSO reaches Catholic/Christian military couples with opportunities for marriage enrichment programs at military installations throughout North America. In addition, the outreach is committed to creating a network for military couples and chaplains with information about WWME experiences, a blog to provide positive reinforcement, and networking via AMS resources and other marriage support programs.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and its presence in just under 100 countries makes it the largest pro-marriage movement in the world. In the United States, the movement is divided into regions based on geography and language (English, Spanish and Korean).

Worldwide Marriage Encounter offers married couples the opportunity to spend time together away from the busyness of the world to focus on each other. It offers tools for building and maintaining a strong, Christian marriage in today's world. The weekend is also open to priests so they can focus on their Sacrament of Holy Orders. To learn more about the Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekends online, go to www.wwme.org or contact the WWME National Office at (909) 863-9963.
