The 38th General Baptist Convention of New Jersey to be Held at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens

SOMERSET, N.J., Feb. 3, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens (FBCLG) in Somerset, New Jersey will host the 38th General Baptist Convention of New Jersey (GBCNJ), Inc., Annual Workers Conference from Friday, February 5, 2016, to Saturday, February 6, 2016. The two-day conference will consist of workshops and lectures focused on Christian Education with the intention to assist clergy, members, and leadership with their roles in ministry.

The convention will begin on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with various seminar classes including: Dangerous Decisions – Navigating the Church in Turbulent Times, You Lost Me: Strategies for Reaching and Keeping Millennials, and dfree® - Debt Free Living, created and instructed by Rev. Dr. DeForest B. Soaries, Jr., Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, and Michelle Dutton, FBCLG dfree® Ministry Leader. dfree® is a transformational lifestyle movement that promotes financial freedom through values-based principles and practical approaches to financial management based on the book, Say Yes to No Debt: 12 Steps to Financial Freedom, authored by Soaries. Friday at 7:00 p.m., a worship service will be held featuring guest preacher, Rev. Dr. Cullian W. Hill, Pastor of Greater Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. The FBCLG Music & Arts Ministry will minister in music and Rev. Dr. Lester W. Taylor, Jr., First Vice President of GBCNJ, will preside. The convention will recess and resume Saturday, February 6, 2016 with a host of various seminar classes including: Commissioning a Portrait of a Christian Missionary, Worship is Discipleship, and Developing Church Leadership to Serve this Present Age.
