ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 20, 2019 /Christian Newswire/ -- ParishSOFT announced today that it has given $6,000 in scholarship money to 17 separate organizations through the company's Youth Scholarship Program.

Scholarship recipients are customers of ParishSOFT's web-based Giving software who are also enrolled in the free program, which launched last fall. To participate, parishes must be an active customer of ParishSOFT Giving and for every 25 new recurring givers it receives while enrolled, the parish receives a check for $200. This process can be repeated until the maximum amount of $2,000 per parish is earned.

St. Brigid of Kildare Parish in Dublin, OH is the first ParishSOFT Giving customer to earn $2,000 through ParishSOFT's Youth Scholarship Program. The 3,200-family parish currently has over 1,100 families using electronic giving and believes in the power of allowing parishioners and donors to give online. The parish's Development Director, Sarah Moore, has used ParishSOFT software for nearly two decades and notes, "Electronic giving has saved our parish!" When finances at the parish are tight, ParishSOFT Giving has provided the parish a source of reliable and steady income. According to Moore, "Our parish could not have continued to grow in our ministries and parish life without sustainable giving at the parish."

Steve Arena is the Stewardship Coordinator at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Tracy, CA. St. Bernard's has earned $200 so far in the Youth Scholarship Program but hopes to earn more in the weeks to come through continued use of ParishSOFT Giving. One key benefit of ParishSOFT Giving for St. Bernard's is how it integrates with their other web-based ParishSOFT software, which saves parish staff considerable time each month. As Arena notes, "We like that it integrates right into our ParishSOFT database. The convenience was important for us."

This year, ParishSOFT continued to enhance its web-based ParishSOFT Giving software by improving the user experience with new developments and functionality. Product enhancements and Catholic-centric features have continued to make ParishSOFT Giving the preferred online giving solution for parishes, which is used by over 10,000 churches.

ParishSOFT plans to continue the Youth Scholarship Program throughout 2019 and looks forward to helping even more parishes share the Gospel with their communities.
